Lamborghini Aventador S launched at Rs. 5.01 crore

730bhp, 690Nm, 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds and equally quick to empty your bank account. The Lamborghini Aventador S is now on sale in India for a whopping Rs. 5.01 crore!

Lamborghini seems to have an aggressive strategy for India this year. Only last month the Italian supercar maker launched the Huracan RWD Spyder, and now they have introduced another model in India. This time around, it is a more powerful version of its flagship – say hello to the Aventador S.

So how is this Aventador S different from the standard model? While it sports the same 6.5-litre V12 unit from the standard model, as opposed to 690bhp, this one makes 730bhp. Torque remains unchanged at 690Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels with the help of a seven-speed automatic transmission. Just like the coupe version, the top-speed of this one too is limited to 350km/h and it can do the 0-100km/h dash in just 2.9 seconds. In addition to the Strada, Sport and Corsa, the Aventador S comes with an ‘Ego’ mode too. This allows the driver to adjust the steering, suspension and engine as per the driver’s liking. Moreover, to help inspire more confidence while cornering the Aventador S comes with four-wheel steering.

The beauty of this iteration however, is in its sharper design that not only looks more aggressive but is extremely functional too. The edgier front bumper improves downforce up front by 130 per cent while the overall downforce betters the downforce at the back by an impressive 400 per cent. And this would be required considering that the all-wheel drive system has been retuned to send as much as up to 90 per cent torque to the rear wheels!
