Lamborghini Urus Performante Essenza SCV12 Special Edition Unveiled, is inspired by a V-12 Track Hypercar

Lamborghini has pulled the wraps off the new one-off Urus Performante Essenza SCV12 Edition, a track-only hypercar designed exclusively for the owners of the 2020 Essenza SCV12 track car. The Urus Performante Essenza SCV12 is a product of the collaboration between customers and Lamborghini Centro Stile, which is the company's Ad Personam customisation department. Only 40 units of the limited-edition car will be commissioned. The Urus Performante Essenza SCV12 Edition seems to take its design inspiration from the track version of the car. It gets a handful of bespoke elements such as unique colour schemes with a dedicated livery, along with exposed carbon fibre elements on the body in a glossy or matte finish. This freedom of customisation is even extended to the Essenza SCV12's car numbers, which can be seen emblazoned on the front doors. 

In addition, the special-edition hypercar is outfitted with a carbon-fibre hood, mirrors, roof, rocker covers, besides a carbon-fibre frame. It sits on 23-inch black-finished alloy wheels as standard. However, customers are free to choose from the brand's range of colours for the wheels and brake callipers.

Lamborghini Urus Performante Essenza SCV12: Interior

The interior of the Urus Performante Essenza SCV12 Edition boasts black Alcantara upholstery, carbon fibre trims in either a matte or a glossy finish, black anodised aluminium elements, and contrasting red door handles. The limited-run car also includes two carbon-fibre plaques in the cabin - one with the Lamborghini 60th Anniversary Logo and another with the vehicle number or the owner's name.  

On the feature front, it has an electric sunroof, a 21-speaker sound system, auto climate control, parking sensors, and USB ports. Also on offer is a Lamborghini infotainment system III with two touchscreens for the infotainment system and the instrument cluster. In terms of safety, it comes with an ADAS suite, airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, and crash sensors.

Lamborghini Urus Performante Essenza SCV12: Powertrain

Unlike the Essenza SCV12 Edition, the new special-edition vehicle does not come equipped with the brand's most powerful naturally-aspirated V12 engine. Instead, it draws power from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that pumps out 658bhp of maximum power and 850Nm of peak torque. For transmission duties, the hypercar comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Lamborghini Essenza SCV12

The Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 car is built for track-only use, and it is the first GT car that adheres to FIA prototype safety rules. Powering the Essenza SCV12 is a 6.5-litre V12 engine producing 819bhp of maximum power. For transmission, it is paired with a new X-tac sequential 6-speed gearbox. Thanks to its new-generation carbon-fibre monocoque chassis, it has a power-to-weight ratio of 1660bhp/tonne.
