Land Rover Classic has unveiled the Defender V8 Soft Top, transforming the iconic Defender 90 into a two-seat open-top pick-up that blends classic design with modern performance. Powering it is a 5.0-litre V8 engine, matched with upgraded mechanical parts to deliver strong performance and a great driving experience. Personalisation is a big part of the Defender V8 Soft Top. Buyers can choose from 49 paint colours and four soft-top options. For something even more unique, Land Rover’s Works Bespoke service offers a match-to-sample paint option. Owners can also customise small details like the grille, door handles, and bonnet script to match their personal taste.

One of the key features is the removable fabric roof. Buyers can pick between a ‘Bikini Hood’ that covers just the front seats, or a full soft-top with roll-up side and rear panels. Both options add to the adventurous feel of the Defender and give it a true open-air driving experience.
Inside, the Defender Soft Top offers thirteen upholstery options, including eight stylish dual-tone combinations. Buyers can also add lifestyle accessories such as a wine chiller or surfboard rack, making the Defender ready for both road trips and outdoor adventures.
Under the bonnet, the Defender V8 Soft Top features the proven 5.0-litre V8 engine. It produces 400 bhp and 515 Nm of torque and is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox for smooth performance. New coil springs, Bilstein dampers, Eibach anti-roll bars, and upgraded Alcon brakes improve handling and stopping power, giving the Defender modern driving ability.
Each Defender V8 Soft Top starts life as a donor vehicle built between 2012 and 2016. Land Rover Classic carefully rebuilds and updates these models, keeping the Defender’s iconic design while adding the latest mechanical upgrades.
