The new Mahindra electric SUV, internally codenamed BO7, is all set to launch in India in 2027, as confirmed by Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO, Auto and Farm Sector, during the company’s Q3 FY26 analyst meeting. While the exact specifications remain under wraps, the upcoming BO7 electric SUV is anticipated by Mahindra to be a ‘very big volume driver’. As for the current calendar year, the homegrown automaker has no plans to introduce any new EV. Addressing analysts, Jejurikar stated, 'On EVs, both what we had spoken about are done for this calendar year. So, there's no new EV launch happening in this calendar year.'

The upcoming SUV is likely to be the production-spec version of the Mahindra BE.07 concept that was showcased in 2022, and was originally slated to go on sale in October 2026. It will mark the fourth born-electric model in the brand’s lineup and will be underpinned by the dedicated INGLO platform.

The production-ready BE.07 is expected to stay largely faithful to the concept, with a conventional SUV design. Key elements include distinctive C-shaped LED lighting signatures, less angular headlamps and taillights, pronounced wheel arches, and prominent body cladding.
In terms of size, the production-ready BE.07 could turn out to be larger than key rivals such as the Hyundai Creta Electric and the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, if it retains the concept’s proportions. For reference, the show car measures 4,565mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,660mm in height, and has a 2,775mm wheelbase.

The cabin of the Mahindra BE.07 offers a unique tech-forward experience. One of the key highlights is a massive, full-width digital screen that spans the entire dashboard. The concept also features a large panoramic sunroof. In line with its digital-first philosophy, Mahindra has significantly reduced or potentially eliminated conventional physical buttons, replacing them with touch-sensitive panels and haptic feedback controls. While it remains to be seen how many of these advanced features will make it to the production model, the upcoming Mahindra EV is expected to offer a comprehensive feature list tailored to meet the expectations of Indian SUV buyers.
Similar to the existing born-electrics from Mahindra, the upcoming SUV, internally codenamed B07, is likely to be offered with two battery pack options (59kWh and 79kWh). It is anticipated to deliver a real-world range of more than 500 kilometres on a single charge.
The upcoming Mahindra e-SUV is likely to be priced between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the VinFast VF 7, Tata Harrier EV, Hyundai Creta EV, and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
