Mahindra has announced a full buyback option for the BE 6 Batman Edition, exclusively for its ‘Founding Owners’, who purchased the first batch when it launched in India in August last year. The move comes in response to growing customer backlash after the homegrown automaker rolled out a second batch of the superhero-themed SUV, which was initially launched as a limited-run model. Ever since its launch, the Batman Edition has seen exceptional demand in the market. It was initially limited to just 300 units, but demand prompted the automaker to increase it to 999 units, all of which were snapped up in 135 seconds. The momentum continued with the second batch, where another 999 units were sold out within just seven minutes of bookings opening.
Mahindra faced criticism after it recently launched the second batch of the BE 6 Batman Edition (999 units). The special edition was originally launched in August 2025 as a strictly limited collector’s model, and all units sold out quickly. Now, with the model back on sale, existing owners feel that the exclusivity and potential resale value of their vehicles have been compromised.
