Mahindra Scorpio-N Carbon Edition

Mahindra has launched a new Carbon edition of its highly popular Scorpio-N SUV in India, with prices ranging from Rs 19.19 lakh to Rs 24.89 lakh (ex-showroom). This edition is available in the 7-seater Z8 and Z8L variants, offering both petrol and diesel engine options, along with manual and automatic transmission choices. The standout feature of this edition is its bold all-black design, complemented by striking aesthetic enhancements that amplify the SUV’s strong and commanding presence. The model remains a strong contender against rivals like the MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar, and Tata Harrier.

Recently, Tata launched the Harrier Stealth Edition, available exclusively in the Fearless + trim, priced from Rs 25.10 lakh. This version is Rs 25,000 more affordable than the SUV’s Dark edition (Rs 24.85 lakh). However, the Mahindra Scorpio-N Carbon offers an even more budget-friendly choice, positioning itself as a competitive and cost-effective alternative to both the Harrier and Safari Stealth and Dark editions.

Mahindra Scorpio-N Carbon Edition: What’s New?

The Scorpio-N Carbon edition stands out with its striking all-black design that enhances the off-roader’s exterior appeal. The front and rear skid plates, along with the door cladding—previously silver on the standard model—have been upgraded to a sleek dark grey finish. Additionally, the door handles now feature a dark chrome accent, adding a refined touch. The roof rails, ORVMs, alloy wheels, and window cladding are all finished in black, further amplifying the SUV’s bold and aggressive presence.

The interior of the Scorpio-N Carbon Edition mirrors the bold all-black exterior theme.  The seats are upholstered in a stylish black and grey mix, while the dashboard layout retains its recognisable form, now with an elevated design. There are silver accents across the centre console, door handles, and AC vents for a sleek contrast. A hint of chrome adorns the steering wheel, highlighting the silver finish of two spokes.

Mahindra Scorpio-N Carbon Edition: Engine and Features

The Scorpio-N Carbon Edition retains the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, producing 200bhp, and the 2.2-litre diesel, generating 173bhp. Both engine options are available with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Notably, the four-wheel drive remains exclusively paired with the diesel engine option.

The Carbon edition offers the same features as the standard model, such as a 12-speaker Sony sound system, an 8-inch touchscreen, a single-pane sunroof, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, and automatic climate control. For safety, the SUV has six airbags, a rear parking camera, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold and hill descent control, driver drowsiness detection, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and front and rear parking sensors.
