Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup Truck Set for 2027 Launch

Mahindra has started work on a Scorpio N-based pickup truck and the launch is set for 2027. Test mules have already been seen on roads in India and in other markets, which means development is moving at pace. The pickup will go on sale in overseas markets first before India gets it later. This will mark Mahindra’s return to the body-on-frame pickup space and the brand is clearly aiming at global markets where lifestyle pickups continue to sell in strong numbers. The overall design will stay close to the concept version that previewed the production model. Spy shots show a familiar front end and a proper dual-cab body with a large load bed at the rear. The stance looks tall and ready for rough use, and the final version should keep that tough look. A single-cab version for work use could also join later.

Expect the cabin to borrow heavily from the Scorpio N. The dashboard layout, screen setup and switchgear should feel familiar to anyone who has driven the SUV. The dual-cab version will focus on space for passengers while still offering a usable cargo bed. Features and equipment will likely match what Mahindra already offers on the Scorpio N in global markets.

The pickup will use the Scorpio N ladder-frame chassis and running gear. Power is expected to come from the 2.2-litre diesel engine with manual and automatic gearbox options. A four-wheel-drive system should also be part of the package, which will help the truck handle rough roads and off-road use. The setup will allow the pickup to handle both daily driving and heavy-duty work.

Mahindra plans to launch the pickup in markets such as South Africa, Australia and parts of Asia before bringing it to India. Production will be linked to the brand’s India plants, with exports playing a big role in the rollout.
