Mahindra Teases Its Upcoming Compact Offering - The S101

Mahindra teases its upcoming compact offering, the S101. Releases official unveil date as 18^th December

Mahindra has officially teased its upcoming compact vehicle, codenamed S101 on a webpage revealing that the company will unveil its newest offering on the 18^th of December. When the wraps are taken off the new Mahindra S101, the official name for the vehicle will also be declared. As of now word is out that the new Mahindra compact vehicle will be badged as the KUV100.

Mahindra currently has the new TUV300 in the compact SUV space and the new model will be slotted in below the TUV with prices likely to start at Rs. 4 lakh ex-showroom. Making this possible will also be the company’s new range of three cylinder, 1.2 litre petrol and diesel engines.

The petrol engine is said to be good for 80 bhp and the diesel for 75 bhp. Like the TUV300 automatic, the KUV100 / S101 is also going to be offered with the same five-speed automated manual transmission in the automatic version of the new compact SUV.

As can be seen in the teaser, Mahindra’s new compact offering will feature modern and butch styling to appeal to younger customers who are looking for vehicles that make a presence with reasonable prices. The Mahindra S101 will have no compact competitors in its price range with its crossoveresque styling that will give it good road presence in what is a segment dominated by conventional hatchbacks.
