The 3-door Mahindra Thar has received several notable updates, both inside and out. It now starts at a lower price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 32,000 more affordable than before. However, the fully loaded variant sees a price hike of Rs 38,000, costing Rs 16.99 lakh. Alongside these pricing changes, Mahindra has also revamped the variant nomenclature, replacing the AX Opt and LX trims with the newly named AXT and LXT. These changes reflect Mahindra’s intent to keep the Thar fresh and competitive in the lifestyle SUV space. In this article, we’ve broken down all the key updates to help you understand what’s new in the Thar Facelift compared to the previous version.

The exterior updates on the Mahindra Thar facelift are minimal. The SUV now has a body-coloured grille, inspired by the Thar Roxx edition. Mahindra has also added contrasting silver accents to both the front and rear bumpers, adding to the SUV’s appeal.

Another small but practical update is the repositioning of the rear camera, which is now integrated into the spare wheel mount. To round off the cosmetic upgrades, Mahindra has introduced two new exterior colours: Tango Red and Battleship Grey, expanding the Thar’s existing colour palette.

Inside the cabin, the updated Thar gets noticeable upgrades, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In a welcome ergonomic change, the power window controls have been relocated to the doors, freeing up space on the centre console. While automatic variants benefit from the addition of a dead pedal, Mahindra has added grab handles on the A-pillars.
