Mahindra Thar Roxx Bookings to Commence from October 3

The Thar Roxx, which has more style, technology, and performance than its 3-door counterpart, is officially on sale in India after two exciting days of features and price announcements on August 14 and 15. The lifestyle SUV comes in six trim levels spanning across the MX and AX range (MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L, and AX7L), with prices ranging between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 20.49 lakh. These are ex-showroom prices. However, it's important to note that the prices of some variants are still unknown and will be announced soon. Reservations for this more elegant and feature-rich stretched Thar will open on October 3, with deliveries beginning around Dussehra (October 12). Here are all the specifications to consider if you're planning to purchase this Mahindra SUV.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Exterior and Interior 

The Thar Roxx boasts distinctive design elements such as LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs, such as a 6-slat grille, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and robust bumpers. It has circular fog lights, rectangular LED taillights, rear-door-mounted handles, a spare wheel positioned on the tailgate, and seven color options (Stealth Black, Tango Red, Everest White, Deep Forest, Nebula Blue, Battleship Grey, and Burnt Sienna), all with a black roof. 

Inside, the SUV gets a range of features, including a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display,  wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, ventilated seats with leatherette upholstery, a 6-way powered driver seat, a panoramic sunroof, fully digital colour instrument cluster, and rear AC vents.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Safety and Dimensions

The Thar 5-door from Mahindra comes equipped with electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, six airbags (standard, and hill ascent and descent control and ADAS, with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning. Dimensionally, the SUV measures 4,428mm in length, 1,870mm in width, and 1,928mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,850mm. 

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Powertrain

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is built on the automaker's GLYDE platform, which has over 60 patents and promises far higher NVH levels. It offers two engine choices: a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel, with various power configurations and manual/automatic gearbox options.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Market Rivals

The Thar Roxx locks horns with the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door and the Force Gurkha 5-door. It also serves as an alternative to a range of models such as the MG Astor, the Skoda Kushaq, the Hyundai Creta, and the Kia Seltos.
