Mahindra Thar Roxx Serial No 1 To Be Auctioned Soon; Here’s All You Need to Know

Mahindra has announced that it will auction the first unit of its newly introduced, the Thar Roxx. The online registrations for the same are now open, while bidding is set to begin on September 15 at 5 p.m. and end on September 16 at 7 p.m. The funds raised from the auction will be given to the winner's preferred non-profit organization. Moreover, Mahindra will match the winning bid amount for donations.

Talking about the auction-specific Thar Roxx, the SUV will have the VIN 0001 badge, and an emblem bearing the signature of Anand Mahindra. It will come with a choice of seven colour options: Tango Red, Battleship Grey, Deep Forest, Everest White, Nebula Blue, Burnt Sienna, and Stealth Black.

For the uninitiated, Mahindra will auction the top-of-the-line AX7L Diesel Automatic 4x4 variant of the 5-door SUV, which comes packed with features like a 360-degree camera, an automated parking brake, a 6-way powered driver's seat, auto air conditioning, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, two 10.25-inch screens, six airbags, and Level 2 ADAS. It runs on a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 370Nm and 172bhp and comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. It also features four-wheel drive. 

Notably, Mahindra auctioned the very first unit of the 3-door Thar in 2020. The winning bid was worth Rs 1.11 crore, which was donated to Covid relief foundations. 

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Dimensions and Design

The Thar Roxx is 4,428mm long, 1,870mm wide, and 1,928mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,850mm. Appearance-wise, the 5-door model differs from its 3-door counterpart with an LED projector headlamp design, a new 6-slat grille, an angular C-pillar design, re-profiled taillamps, and two extra doors. Other notable elements include rear-door-mounted handles, a spare wheel positioned on the tailgate, and 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Price

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is currently priced between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom). However, it is important to take into account that prices for the 4WD models have yet to be announced.
