Mahindra & Mahindra has filed several trademark applications for names that it plans to use for its upcoming electric SUVs. The all-new compact SUV EV and the electric variants of the XUV700, the XUV500, and the XUV300 are referred to by the recently trademarked names XUV 7XO, XUV 5XO, XUV 3XO, and XUV 1XO. In December this year, the car manufacturer is expected to introduce the first of these forthcoming electric vehicles. For those who are unaware, the XUV400 is the only model in Mahindra's electric vehicle lineup in India at the moment. The BE.05 SUV is the next product on the list, and it will go on sale in October next year.

Upcoming Mahindra EV Range

The popular INGLO platform is meant to be used to develop each of these models. The battery packs used in larger SUVs will have a capacity of 60kWh to 80 kWh. The XUV 3XO and 1XO will probably only have a single electric motor, but the XUV 7XO and 5XO might get both single-motor and dual-motor AWD choices.

Recently, an XUV.e9 test mule with a triple-screen dashboard was spotted cruising on Indian roads. This new triple-screen dash will probably be available for the XUV 7XO and 5XO. The infotainment system on the XUV 3XO and X1O, in contrast, could keep a single touchscreen. Larger SUVs are likely to receive more safety features and connectivity options.

Mahindra XUV E9

While the XUV 1XO could boast a range between 200-kilometre to 250-kilometre, the XUV 7XO, 5XO, and XUV 3XO are projected to have a range varying between 400-kilometre to 450-kilometre. Notably, it is anticipated that the previously assigned names of the models, XUV.e8 and XUV.e9, will be replaced with their new, trademarked monikers. When it comes to the XUV 7XO and 5XO, more features will likely be added to the ADAS suite. Certain essential ADAS capabilities, like blind spot detection, traffic sign recognition, and driver fatigue detection, may also be available for the XUV 3XO and 1XO.
