The Mahindra Vision S has been spotted undergoing testing in its near-production form. It sports an AdBlue cap beside the fuel filler, hinting at a BS6 Phase-2 diesel engine. Inside, the SUV shows an automatic gear lever, which indicates that this car uses an automatic transmission. That said, the car looks like a proper rugged SUV from Mahindra featuring a tall and upright stance with flat surfaces and squared edges. Judging by the details, such as halogen turn indicators at both ends, the spotted Vision S seems to be a mid-spec version. However, there is no official confirmation.

The interior of the Vision S mid-spec closely resembles that of the concept unveiled last August. There are physical buttons for infotainment and climate controls, and the panoramic sunroof extends to the rear seats. Moreover, the cabin includes adjustable headrests for all three passengers and a 60:40 split bench.
Mahindra has yet to officially reveal the powertrain details for the upcoming Vision S. However, industry reports suggest that the SUV could be offered with both petrol and diesel engines.
The petrol version is expected to use the XUV 3XO's 1.2-litre turbo engine, whereas the diesel model could be powered by a 1.5-litre unit similar to the one found in the Thar. This unit is likely to come with an automatic gearbox.
