Mahindra XUV300 diesel BS6 prices revealed

Here comes some shock and awe from Mahindra as the company has listed the prices for the BS6 Mahindra XUV300 diesel, which are the same as the BS4 model! Whether this is some shockingly good news or an error, it remains to be seen. But the information does look concrete, based on the company information, as you can see in the screenshots below.

Mahindra has silently updated its company website with the price list for the revamped XUV300 diesel BS6. Prices for the diesel compact SUV now range between Rs. 8.69 lakh to Rs. 12.69 lakh, ex-showroom. With this update, the XUV300 diesel continues to be powered by the same 1,497cc, four cylinder diesel engine that now features an SCR exhaust gas treatment system to meet the new BS6 norms. This means that the car will come with an AdBlue tank as well and we are yet to see how the new exhaust gas treatment system has been packaged into the car. Having said that, the real hard-hitting information comes from the fact that despite the adoption of the SCR system, the prices for the XUV300 diesel have not gone up at all from the BS4 model.

This makes us wonder if this is a glitch on the company website as it seems too good to be true. But then again, as you can see in the screenshot below from the Mahindra’s official website, these have been prominently listed as the prices for the BS6 model.

In fact, a screenshot of the company brochure below also reveals that the spec sheet of the car is currently for the BS4 model. And it clearly states that the specifications for the BS6 model are coming soon.

So while we await the specifications for the car, here’s a look at how the new Mahindra XUV300 BS6 diesel compares on the price front with the BS6 Hyundai Venue diesel and the updated Ford EcoSport diesel, both of which come with LNT exhaust gas treatment systems, which are more affordable than the SCR system.
