Mahindra XUV E8 Leaked 1

A patent image of what appears to be the production-ready version of the Mahindra XUV.e8 has been leaked. Design-wise, the electric SUV looks nearly identical to the concept previewed in August 2022. Going by the leaked image, the production-spec Mahindra XUV.e8 electric SUV will get the same body panels as the concept car, and, therefore looks similar to the regular XUV700. The front end of the car is defined by a full-width LED light bar, a blocked-off grille, and newly designed triangular headlamps. In its side profile, the XUV.e8 appears similar to the ICE-powered XUV700, featuring similar character lines and flush door handles, however, it will sit on newly designed wheels. In addition, the vehicle will also bear copper accents - a signature element on the brand's upcoming electric vehicles - and the twin-peak Mahindra logo.

Having said that, the car does not give us a sneak peek at its rear. But, we expect the production model to borrow the same design from the concept version.

The Mahindra XUV.e8 Electric will come with an all-wheel-drive system and use an 80kWh battery pack, powering a rear-wheel-drive single motor or an all-wheel-drive twin-motor set-up. Power output will stand between 227bhp and 345bhp.

Mahindra XUV.e8 Electric: Dimensions

The XUV.e8 is an electric version of the standard Mahindra XUV700, which is the brand's current flagship SUV. Dimensionally, the Mahindra XUV.e8 will be 4,740mm long, 1,900mm in width, and 1,760mm tall. It will have a 2,762mm wheelbase.

Mahindra XUV.e8 Electric: Launch Details

The upcoming vehicle is conceptually similar to the XUV700, having the same layout and silhouette. It is likely to be offered in two- and three-row configurations. It will be one of the five upcoming electric vehicles that will go on sale first, and it is scheduled for release in December 2024. Upon its launch, the XUV.e8 will be Mahindra's answer to the upcoming Tata Harrier EV.

To put things in perspective, five of Mahindra's much-awaited electric SUVs were showcased at the M.A.D.E. headquarters in the United Kingdom in 2022. The new INGLO EV skateboard platform will serve as the foundation for the five born EVs, which will be offered under the XUV.e and BE subbrands. The BE will initially include three SUVs, the BE.05, the BE.07, and the BE.09, whilst the XUV.e will feature two models for now, the XUV.e8 and the XUV.e9. The first of the BE models will hit the market in October 2025.
