Mahindra XUV.e9 Interior Leaked Ahead of India Launch; Shows Two-spoke Steering Wheel, and More

A number of electrified cars from Mahindra, including the XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, and more are expected to hit Indian roads sometime soon. The XUV.e8 was seen testing a couple of days ago, and now interior photos of its other electric sibling, the XUV.e9, have appeared online, providing a few key details. The leaked photos show that the inside layout of the Mahindra XUV.e9 is similar to that of the XUV.e8. Among the prominent interior features seen in the spy photos are the two-spoke steering wheel, the rotary drive mode selection, and the large screen. In terms of powertrain, the electrified model is anticipated to be available in two battery configurations - 60kWh or 80kWh. Furthermore, it is expected to be available in single-motor and dual-motor AWD variants, with power outputs ranging from 230bhp to 350bhp. Mahindra XUV.e9: Recent Interior Spy Shots

The newly emerged spy photographs of the SUV's interior exhibit a structure that is strikingly identical to the XUV.e8. The SUV includes a panel that stretches between pillars and is outfitted with three 12.3-inch screens. There is also a two-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, two dials that probably adjust the drive and AWD modes, and a gear shift lever in the center console. The border of the massive screen is characterized by square-shaped side AC vents. On the other hand, the trapezoidal central air conditioning vents are below the wide screen and above that look to be temperature control system knobs. 

Mahindra XUV.e9: Design, Price and Competitors

The exterior of the car will most likely include a sloping roofline, flush door handles, a full-width LED light strip, and a closed-off grille. The automaker is expected to set an expensive price for the vehicle. Moreover, the car will be placed above the XUV.e8 in the company's electric lineup, with no direct competitors.

Recent spy photos revealed some of the key design elements of the XUV.e8, including the split LED headlamp system with its pod-like look and vertical stacking of LED lights. There is no currently no official announcement from Mahindra, however, market reports suggest that the XUV.e8 will be the first electric vehicle to be offered in our market next year. Upon its launch, the new e-SUV will compete with vehicles like the upcoming Tata Harrier EV.
