The NEXA Ciaz has been launched in India by Maruti Suzuki in a new dual-tone iteration with prices starting at Rs 11.14 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Manual variant and Rs 12.34 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Automatic variant. Days after upgrading the Baleno, the Ertiga, and the XL6, Maruti Suzuki has rolled out new safety features and dual-tone exterior shades for the Ciaz. However, the dated sedan receives no additional updates to its technological or comfort features. The top-of-the-line Alpha variant serves as the foundation for the new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz dual-tone mid-size sedan. The Pearl Metallic Opulent Red with Black Roof, Pearl Metallic Grandeur Gray with Black Roof, and Dignity Brown with Black Roof are the three new dual-tone colour options for the NEXA Ciaz. Therefore, ten different colour options are now available for the model, including seven monotone shades: Nexa Blue, Pearl Metallic Dignity Brown, Pearl Midnight Black, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Opulent Red, and Pearl Arctic White.

The 1.5-litre petrol engine of the car produces 103bhp of maximum power at 6000rpm and 138Nm of peak torque at 4400rpm in the mid-size sedan with a length of 4,490mm. The sedan's MT variant has a fuel efficiency of 20.65km/l and the AT variant has a fuel efficiency of 20.04km/l.

The compact sedan from Maruti is equipped with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic LED headlights, automated climate control, passive keyless entry with push-button start, and cruise control. In terms of safety features, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz now comes standard with Hill Hold Assist, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), dual airbags, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, and more than 20 additional safety features.

Commenting on the launch of the dual-tone Ciaz, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “We are thrilled to introduce the new Ciaz, featuring three new dual-tone colour options and additional safety features. The Ciaz has been a beloved choice among our customers and has attained remarkable success, completing eight years in the market. With its new avatar, we aim to further strengthen our position in the premium mid-size sedan segment."

While Maruti does not charge a premium for the updated list of standard safety features, customers must pay Rs 16,000 more for dual-tone options over the Ciaz's corresponding monotone options. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz now costs between Rs 9.20 lakh and Rs 12.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It competes with the likes of the Honda City, the Hyundai Verna, the Volkswagen Virtus, and the Skoda Slavia.

Since its launch in India, the Ciaz has managed to sell over 300,000 units. The car's sales volume increased 3.26 per cent year on year to 12,518 units in April-January FY23, up from 12,123 units the previous year.
