Maruti Suzuki will enter the electric vehicle market with the launch of its first all-electric SUV, the e Vitara. The launch is scheduled for tomorrow at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Developed on the 'Heartect-e platform' in collaboration with Toyota, the e Vitara targets the mass market EV buyers. The e-Vitara is expected to offer multiple battery pack options and a potential all-wheel-drive system.
A teaser image reveals key design elements of the e Vitara. It features tri-slash LED daytime running lights and a prominent 'Maruti Suzuki' logo at the centre. The design includes a sculpted bonnet and a bold bumper.

While the full profile and rear design are yet to be revealed, the official unveiling will provide all the details tomorrow. Globally, the e Vitara is expected to include 18-inch alloy wheels, C-pillar-mounted door handles, wheel arch cladding, a roof spoiler, a shark-fin antenna, a strong rear bumper, and lightbar-style taillamps.
The India-specific e Vitara is expected to offer a dual-tone interior with a dashboard centred around integrated screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system. It may also feature a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and updated AC vents, adding to its functionality and design.

The SUV is likely to include features such as a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, and six airbags. Additional highlights could be a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), focusing on improved safety and comfort for Indian buyers.
The e Vitara will be built on a new skateboard platform developed in collaboration with Toyota. Internationally, the electric SUV offers two battery options: a 49kWh pack with two-wheel drive and a 61kWh pack that can be paired with either two-wheel or four-wheel drive. The specific configurations for the Indian market are still to be revealed, but it has been confirmed that the e-Vitara will deliver a range of over 500km on a single charge.
To achieve this impressive range, Maruti Suzuki says that the battery pack weighs between 600 and 700 kg. The lightweight design of the battery plays a crucial role in ensuring the e Vitara's efficiency and long driving range. Further details on the Indian version's specifications will be announced tomorrow.
