Maruti Suzuki has finally entered the electric game with the new e Vitara, and it now goes head-to-head with one of the popular electric cars in India, the MG Windsor EV. This is a big moment because the e Vitara marks Maruti Suzuki’s serious entry into the electric vehicle space, while the Windsor EV has already started building a strong presence among buyers considering sustainable electric mobility. With more people now looking at EVs for daily use, both models come with premium features and competitive pricing with BaaS. Both models target similar buyers looking for a long-range electric SUV, which sets up a direct rivalry.

So, we take a closer look at the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara vs the MG Windsor EV to see how they compare across design, motor performance, interior technology, and on-road pricing.
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara sticks to a familiar, tough-looking shape and follows the brand’s ‘Crafted Futurism’ design language. You get high-set Y-shaped LED DRLs, a blanked-off grille, and squared wheel arches with 18-inch aero alloys that add to the stance. It looks planted and carries that proper SUV feel.

The MG Windsor comes with flush door handles, a sloping bonnet, and a full-width LED light bar give it a clean, futuristic vibe. It is wider and taller too, which adds to that glass-heavy, pod-like look.
The e Vitara takes gets a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch digital driver display on a floating twin-deck console. Materials feel more premium than what we usually see from Maruti, but the layout stays practical.

You still get physical buttons for HVAC controls, which makes daily use easier than relying only on a touchscreen.

The MG Windsor focuses on space and comfort. A large 15.6-inch ‘Grandview’ touchscreen dominates the dashboard, and the rear seats recline up to 135 degrees. The flat floor and big ‘Infinity View’ glass roof make the cabin feel open and lounge-like.
Underneath, both sit on dedicated EV platforms, but the e Vitara brings more punch. It offers a 49kWh battery with 142bhp and a larger 61kWh pack with 172bhp. The bigger battery also claims a range of up to 543km.

The MG Windsor comes with either a 38kWh or 52.9kWh battery, and both versions produce 134bhp and 200Nm. Claimed range goes up to 449km. The Windsor feels steady and consistent, but on paper the e Vitara has the edge in power and range.

Both brands are also using a Battery-as-a-Service setup. With this model, the e Vitara can be bought from Rs 10.99 lakh, with a battery rental cost of Rs 3.99/km. While the starting price for the MG Windsor is Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), with a battery rental cost of Rs 3.99/km.
