Maruti Suzuki Fronx Bookings Cross 5,500 units; India Launch in April

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has crossed the 5,500 mark for bookings ahead of its launch in India in April this year. The carmaker opened the bookings for the model on January 12 for a token amount of Rs 11,000.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the all-new crossover SUV, has so far received more than 5,500 bookings in India. The landmark has come ahead of its launch in India in April 2023. To recollect, India’s largest carmaker showcased the compact SUV on January 12 at the 16th Edition of the Auto Expo this year. The bookings for the model commenced on the same day at an initial token amount of Rs 11,000. The brand-new Fronx will be available for the sale through Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa outlets across the country. The crossover is anticipated to be launched at a starting price of Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 1.2-litre petrol variant. It can go up to Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec automatic variant with the 1.0-litre Booster Jet unit.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is under 4 metres in length. It will be placed between the Brezza and the Baleno in Maruti Suzuki’s line-up. As for the engine options, customers will have the option to choose between the 1.0-litre K-series Turbo petrol engine and a 1.2-litre K-Series Dual Jet Dual VVT engine. Both the engines come equipped with the brand’s mild-hybrid technology.

In terms of design, the compact SUV has a large grille with chrome finish, automatic headlamps with LED DRLs, and chrome accents on the front and rear bumpers. On the inside, it gets a floating 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Furthermore, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx will also offer a slew of safety features such as reverse parking sensors, curtain airbags, pedestrian protection compliance, hill hold assistance, rollover mitigation, 3-point seatbelts, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.

The Fronx is available in five different variants – Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta and Alpha. When launched, it is likely to compete with the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and the Mahindra XUV300. Maruti Suzuki will offer the SUV in three dual-tone and six monotone colour options.
