Maruti Suzuki Fronx S-CNG launched in India at Rs 8.42 Lakh

While the Maruti Suzuki Fronz is already available as a petrol-only product, the homegrown carmaker Maruti Suzuki has now launched an S-CNG version of the SUV in the Indian market. The CNG version is offered across two variants - Sigma and Delta. Speaking of its pricing, the Sigma variant goes on sale at a sticker price of Rs 8.42 lakh in India, while the Delta variant can be had at Rs 9.28 lakh. Prices are ex-showroom. Coming to the heart of the matter, the new Fronx S-CNG gets a 1.2-litre, K-Series, DualJet, Dual VVT petrol engine with a factory-installed CNG kit. Paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, the model churns out 76bhp of maximum power and 98.5Nm of peak torque. In the petrol mode, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx develops 89bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm at 4,400rpm. The petrol engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission.

According to the homegrown carmaker, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx CNG offers a best-in-segment mileage of 28.51km/kg. Following the launch of the new Fronx CNG, the carmaker now has a total of 15 CNG models available for purchase, including the Brezza CNG. The compact crossover - Fronx - slots between the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the Baleno. 

Maruti Suzuki Fronx S-CNG: Features

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx S-CNG is packed to the brim with features, such as a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 4-speaker sound system, steering-mounted controls, voice controls, OTA updates, keyless entry, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, a sharkfin antenna, faux skid plates, and alloy wheels. As far as safety goes, the CNG version comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. 

Maruti Suzuki Fronx S-CNG: Price, Rivals

As mentioned earlier, the newly launched Fronx CNG is available at a starting price of Rs 8.42 lakh for the Sigma variant and goes up to Rs 9.28 lakh for the Delta variant. Both prices are ex-showroom. The Hyundai Exter CNG, the Tata Altroz CNG, the upcoming Tata Punch CNG, and the Toyota Glanza CNG are some of the market rivals that the Fronx CNG goes up against in the Indian market.

In its Nexa line-up, the homegrown automaker already offers a factory-fitted CNG option on the Grand Vitara, the XL6, and the Baleno. And now, the newly launched Fronx S-CNG becomes the fourth CNG model from the Nexa line-up. It is worth noting that the Fronx S-CNG can be had through Maruti Suzuki Subscribe with a monthly subscription fee starting from Rs 23,248.
