The Maruti Suzuki WagonR has emerged as the highest-selling car for FY24- 25 in India, with over 1.98 lakh units sold. The WagonR’s immense popularity as a ‘tall boy’ hatchback has been a key factor in its continued success, securing its position as the sales leader for four consecutive financial years. With over 33.7 lakh units now in Indian households, the car has earned a loyal following, with one in every four customers choosing to repurchase it. Launched in 1999, the WagonR has evolved through various facelifts and generational updates. The third-generation model, launched in 2019, received a notable mid-cycle refresh in 2022.

Commenting on this achievement, Mr. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, 'WagonR’s sustained leadership in the Indian automotive market underscores strong customer trust and an unmatched value proposition over 25 years. Our focus on innovation and customer-centricity has ensured that the WagonR remains a top choice for Indian families. In fact, 1 in every 4 WagonR customers returns to repurchase India’s highest-selling car, a reflection of its widespread appeal and the confidence our customers place in the brand.’
