Mercedes-Benz is set to expand its performance portfolio in India with the upcoming launch of the AMG CLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe on August 12. This latest offering is expected to blend expressive design with dynamic engineering, targeting buyers seeking a more exhilarating take on luxury. The coupe is likely to arrive with bold styling cues, advanced tech, and a focus on delivering an engaging driving experience. Positioned to appeal to a niche yet growing market of performance enthusiasts, the CLE 53 will join a competitive space dominated by established German rivals, marking another step in AMG’s effort to strengthen its presence in the Indian premium segment.
The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe is designed to leave a lasting impression, with a profile that blends aggressive character with refined elegance. At the front, it features a bold AMG grille adorned with vertical strakes and the signature Mercedes star. The sharp LED daytime running lights and sculpted front bumper lend it an assertive, purposeful stance.

A stretched bonnet with pronounced lines adds to its athletic proportions. Toward the rear, wide haunches, gloss-black inserts on the lower bumper, and a four-exit exhaust system highlight its sporty intent. The India-spec model is expected to come standard with 19-inch wheels, with larger 20-inch alloys likely available optionally.

The CLE 53 draws power from a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder twin-turbo engine, assisted by a 48V mild-hybrid system. This drivetrain produces 442.5bhp and 560Nm of torque, with an added 40Nm of torque delivered momentarily through Overboost.
A nine-speed AMG-tuned dual-clutch gearbox sends power to all four wheels via the 4Matic+ system, enabling the coupe to hit 100km/h from a standstill in a claimed 4.2 seconds. The electronically capped top speed of 250km/h can be increased to 270km/h with the optional AMG Performance Package.
Step inside and you will find a cabin that merges motorsport DNA with luxury craftsmanship. Finished in black with Alcantara, carbon-fibre touches, and red contrast stitching, the interior echoes the layout of the CLE Cabriolet. It includes a trio of turbine-style AC vents, a 12.3-inch driver’s display, and an 11.9-inch vertical infotainment screen. However, the Coupe version adds a flat-bottom AMG steering wheel trimmed in Alcantara and leather, featuring red stitching and capacitive touch controls.

On the equipment front, the CLE 53 offers a premium experience with powered front seats with memory, a head-up display, multicolour ambient lighting, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Burmester surround sound system, and wireless charging.
