Armed with a 625bhp V8 powertrain, the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupé arrives as the most powerful iteration of the GLE!

Continuing its AMG offensive in India, Mercedes-Benz has now brought in the mighty GLE 63 S AMG Coupé to our shores, which is priced at a whopping ₹2.07 crores (ex-showroom). It's also the 12th AMG model to go on sale in the country.

For this exorbitant amount, the GLE 63 S AMG Coupé offers a 4.0-litre Biturbo V8, which puts out 603bhp. And given it's the first AMG V8 model to feature the brand's 48V EQ Boost mild hybrid system, the motor benefits from an additional 22bhp, which takes the total power output up to 625bhp. Plus, the 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system (with fully variable torque distribution) helps deliver a massive 850Nm of torque (250Nm contributed by the EQ Boost system), with the help of a nine-speed AMG Speedshift TCT gearbox. All this translates into a 0 – 100km/h time of just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 280km/h.

There are also plenty of standard features to look forward to on the GLE 63 S AMG Coupé. For example, to maximise efficiency, the Biturbo V8 comes fitted with a cylinder deactivation tech, which can shut off half the number of cylinders at particular speeds in the 'Comfort' drive mode. There's also the AMG Active Ride Control+ air suspension with active roll stabilisation (which works on the 48V architecture) – the system, depending on the drive mode selected  – there are up to seven different options – alters the ride and handling characteristics of the car.

To further improve traction and dynamism, the GLE 63 S Coupé also features an AMG electronic rear-axle limited-slip differential as standard.

Like all AMG models, the GLE 63 S Coupé also gets multiple service packages options, with prices starting at ₹96,700 for 2 years.
