Mercedes-Benz India has launched the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe Performance Edition in India at Rs 1.52 crore (ex-showroom), giving its already quick coupe-SUV a sharper, more loaded variant for buyers who want extra kit straight from the factory. Based on the regular GLE 53 Coupe, this new Performance Edition bundles in several optional extras as standard, along with the AMG Dynamic Plus Package, making it the most focused version of the GLE 53 Coupe currently on sale in India.

The launch comes as Mercedes-Benz continues to expand its AMG range in the country with more niche, enthusiast-oriented offerings.
The overall shape remains unchanged, but the Performance Edition gets enough visual upgrades to stand apart from the standard car. It rides on 22-inch AMG cross-spoke alloy wheels finished in matt black, gets red AMG brake callipers, and features aluminium-look side steps.

Up front, you still get the signature AMG Panamericana-style grille with vertical slats and Multibeam LED headlamps, while the rear packs wraparound LED tail-lamps and quad exhaust outlets neatly integrated into the diffuser.
The cabin gets the usual AMG treatment with a few welcome additions. The standout bit is the AMG Performance steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather and Dinamica microfibre, complete with AMG’s rotary drive-mode controls. Mercedes has also added carbon fibre trim across the dashboard and doors, while the AMG sport seats get extra bolstering and contrast stitching. Despite the sloping roofline, practicality remains intact with seating for five.
Feature list duties are handled by dual 12.3-inch screens running the latest MBUX system, along with AMG Track Pace for those who want to record driving data. Other equipment includes a 13-speaker Burmester sound system, four-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, head-up display, and heated and ventilated front seats with memory function. There are even temperature-controlled cup holders up front.
Power comes from the familiar 3.0-litre inline-six turbo-petrol engine with an integrated starter alternator, producing 429bhp and 520Nm. It is paired with a nine-speed TCT automatic gearbox and AMG’s 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system. Mercedes claims a 0-100km/h time of 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 250km/h.
The inclusion of the AMG Dynamic Plus Package as standard also brings active roll stabilisation and high-performance composite brakes, giving the heavy coupe-SUV better body control when pushed hard.
