Mercedes-AMG GT63 S 4-door Coupe Edition 1 revealed
Roughly two months after unveiling its ambitious GT 4-door Coupe, Mercedes-AMG has now announced that the company will offer a limited-edition variant of the super-saloon to mark its global launch.

Limited edition version of Mercedes-AMG's high-performance GT 4-door Coupe will be sold only for 12 months.
Roughly two months after unveiling its ambitious GT 4-door Coupe, Mercedes-AMG has now announced that the company will offer a limited-edition variant of the super-saloon to mark its global launch. Dubbed the AMG GT63 S 4-door Coupe Edition 1, the special variant will be sold for a limited period of 12 months.
The Edition 1 will be based on the top-spec AMG GT63S 4Matic+ variant with a few niceties and a lot more downforce on offer. According to Mercedes, the Edition 1 gets a special ‘Aerodynamics Package’ that features a larger front splitter and integrated flics, along with an enhanced demand-optimised diffuser and a fixed rear spoiler. All of this means that it increases aerodynamic efficiency as you go faster. And once you hit 300km/h, the Edition 1 develops an additional 30 kilograms of downforce as compared to the standard vehicle.
On the outside, the Edition 1 will get unique diamond white bright or graphite grey metallic paint options, along with AMG sports stripes in matt graphite grey on the sides above the side sill panels. There are matte-black 21-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels as well. Inside, the cabin comes with exclusive nappa leather in magma grey/black and yellow stitching. Among other goodies inside, there’s AMG matt carbon-fibre trim, yellow seatbelts, Illuminated AMG door sill panels, etc. Additionally, customers can opt for AMG Night Package, ceramic brakes and exterior carbon fibre Package 2.
Since the Edition 1 is based on the top-spec variant, it comes powered by the most powerful engine of the lot. Which is a 4.0-litre biturbo V8, developing 630bhp and 900Nm of torque. Power goes to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. Performance is quite mind-boggling as a result, with 0 – 100km/h in just 3.2 seconds! Top speed is 315km/h.
The AMG GT63S 4-door Coupe Edition 1 will go on sale in major global markets beginning September 2018.
