New Mercedes Benz Amg Hypercar

Mercedes-Benz AMG to expand its performance car range and launch new F1 inspired flagship performance hypercar.

The world may be debating climate change, air pollution, global warming and a host of issues environmental issues. But none of that seems to be affecting the performance car market. Based on increasing demand for performance cars, car makers are churning out more performance oriented models than ever before.

And considering the way Mercedes-Benz went from the SLS AMG to the AMG GT in creating a smaller Porsche 911 rivalling car, it was only a matter of time before they went back to the good old ways of large AMG cars. But in fact, news is much bigger than that.

Mercedes-Benz has recently announced that it plans to expand its AMG range of performance cars by at least 10 models in future. And the flagship model is going to be a new hypercar that will be produced and developed in the span of the next 2.5 years.

And while the Mercedes AMG GT S is a cutting edge performance car which is truly in a class of its own, Mercedes-Benz will be taking things to the next level with its upcoming hypercar. The German automobile giant claimes that their next hypercar will bridge the gap between its F1 division and its road cars. Infact it has been reported that the next Mercedes-Benz hypercar will be offered with the same powertrain as its Formula One car with a modified gearbox. The hypercar will also be made out of carbon fibre. This means that the AMG division at Mercedes-Benz and its Formula 1 engineering team are working together on the project.

No more details pertaining to specifications and performance are available at the moment for the Mercedes-Benz AMG hypercar of the future. But rest assured, expect some eye watering figures and physics bending real world performance from the upcoming car that has been confirmed to deliver over 1,000 horsepower.
