Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV Celebration Edition Launched in India at Rs 1.34 Crore

Mercedes-Benz has launched the EQS SUV Celebration Edition, an exclusive iteration of its best-selling and flagship electric model in India. Prices start at Rs 1.34 crore for the five-seater 450 variant and go up to Rs 1.48 crore for the seven-seater 580 variant (both, ex-showroom). The powertrain remains the same, with a dual-motor setup and a 122kWh battery, churning out power/torque figures of 265bhp/800Nm in the EQS SUV 450 version and 536bhp/858Nm in the EQS SUV 580 model. Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV Celebration Edition: Key Highlights

The EQS SUV 450 benefits from the AMG Line, highlighting sportier styling, AMG body styling, and an A-wing front apron, chrome-accented rear apron, 21-inch high-gloss black alloy wheels, and active rear seat ventilation.

Meanwhile, the EQS SUV 580 reintroduces the option of a 7-seat configuration. With this setup, the SUV, however, misses out on certain features, like Energizing Air Control Plus and the spare wheel, for optimal space usage.

The model also features foldable third-row seats with Easy-Entry access, ventilated second-row outer seats, and MBUX rear tablet controls.

Other Highlights

Mercedes-Maybach India has introduced the GLS Celebration Edition, priced at Rs 4.10 crore (ex-showroom). The exclusive edition boasts rear individual reclining seats, bespoke leather interiors, foldable work tables, and a refrigerated console complete with Maybach champagne glasses. It also comes equipped with an MBUX rear tablet and a 29-speaker Burmester 3D audio system.

Mechanically, the familiar 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine produces 549bhp and 770Nm, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, enabling 0–100km/h in 4.9 seconds and a 250km/h top speed.

Key design cues include a dual-tone Maybach exterior, 23-inch forged ceramically polished wheels with covered bolts, and a chrome vertical grille.
