Mercedes-Benz India has issued a recall for 149 units of the CLE and the Mercedes-AMG C 63 following the identification of a software glitch in the ADAS system. The issue resides within the driver assistance software responsible for processing camera and sensor data. These vehicles, manufactured in 2023 and 2024 and imported into India as Completely Built Units (CBUs), include the CLE Cabriolet and the C 63 S E Performance. The manufacturer has commenced communication with owners to schedule service appointments for the necessary software updates.

The technical cause of the recall is a logic error in the ADAS control unit. Due to this fault, the system may fail to interpret inputs from cameras and sensors correctly. Consequently, the vehicle may encounter difficulties detecting lane markings or objects in specific environments. In certain instances, the error could lead to unintended steering or braking interventions during operation.

Mercedes-Benz India has confirmed that the recall affects imported CBU units and excludes locally assembled vehicles. The identified batch was produced within a specific window during 2023 and 2024. This measure is part of a global campaign by the German manufacturer to standardise software performance across these model lines.
The rectification process involves a software update to the control unit of the assistance system. Following the update, the cameras and sensors will resume standard communication with the central vehicle computer. This procedure ensures the system functions according to the original manufacturer's specifications.
The repair work is being provided to owners at no cost. Dealers have received instructions to prioritise these 149 vehicles, and customers may verify their status by entering a Vehicle Identification Number on the official Mercedes-Benz India website. The company is recording all updated chassis numbers to maintain compliance with safety regulations and internal standards.
