Mercedes-Benz India rolled out the locally assembled C 220 CDI sedan from its Chakan manufacturing facility in Pune. It is available in two variants -- C 220 CDI Style at Rs 37.90 lakhs and Rs 39.90 lakhs for the C 220 CDI Avantgarde (both ex-showroom, Delhi, prices). The local production of the sedan has started three months after the C-Class diesel made its debut in India. The C 220 CDI will now be available in all Mercedes-Benz dealerships across India.
Mercedes-Benz India has managed to increase the localisation content in the new C 220 CDI to 60 per cent. According to the German car maker, the local production of the C 220 CDI underlines Mercedes-Benz’s continuous efforts in creating excellence in manufacturing from India and support the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the government.
