Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 is a stunning 2+2 seater, measures almost 6 metres and is an electric powered coupe. Mercedes-Benz unveiled this stupendous looking concept at Pebble Beach Concours D'Elégance in California.

According to Mercedes-Benz, this concept pays homage to the age of the aero coupés as it reinterprets classic design principles in an extreme futuristic way. That's why the long bonnet, the low roof line and the rearward positioning of the greenhouse, everything makes a bold statement as the Stuttgart-based carmaker wants this concept to be the ultimate in luxury. What complements this striking looking Mercedes-Maybach 6 is the Maybach red paintwork and the chrome strips, which sit above the wheel arches and in the centre of the bonnet and boot lid.

Mercedes-Benz's revealed that the radiator grille's design's been inspired by a pinstriped suit. The radiator grille rests on two aerodynamically shaped supports on the outer right and left of the bumper. The massive 24-inch wheels are made of aero rim from the Concept IAA (Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile). Mercedes-Benz have decided to bring back the iconic gullwing doors. Coming to the rear, the design's been inspired by a round boat tail of a yacht

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 boasts an output of 550 kW (740bhp). An additional 80kWh battery is tucked away in shallow underfloor. This ensures that it can accelerate like a sports car from 0?100 km/h in under four seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h, electronically governed, of course.

"Our glamorous coupé, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6, represents the ultimate in contemporary luxury. It is hot and cool," states Gorden Wagener, Head of Design at Daimler AG. "With its intelligent appeal and reduced, technoid look, it perfectly embodies our design philosophy of sensual purity and our pursuit of aerodynamic efficiency."
