MG Motor is set to launch its highly anticipated Cyberster EV in India in January 2025, marking a significant step in the brand’s electric vehicle journey. The vehicle will be introduced through the MG Select Premium Retail Channel, offering customers a unique, premium buying experience. With cutting-edge features, a powerful electric drivetrain, and a sleek, aerodynamic build, the Cyberster is expected to make waves in the market. This launch reflects MG’s commitment to expanding its EV portfolio and catering to the growing demand for sustainable and innovative mobility solutions in the country.

Talking about the upcoming car, Gaurav Gupta, Chief Growth Officer, JSW MG Motor India, said, 'Growing up and even today, many of us dream of owning a sleek sports car – the kind that makes your heart race, your hair fly in the wind, and lets you relive the romance and thrill we have all seen in iconic movies and on racetracks. The MG Cyberster brings that dream to life, blending the timeless allure of classic roadsters with modern technology and inspired innovation. It encapsulates the thrill and charm of a bygone era while appealing to the discerning tastes of new-age luxury customers in India.'

MG Cyberster: Design, Mechanical Details, and More

The MG Cyberster is likely to be offered in two variations: a single-motor and a dual-motor version. With an output of approximately 500bhp, the car can reach 100km/h from a standstill in just 3.2 seconds. It is also expected to provide a certified range of around 500 km on a full charge. The EV is expected to arrive as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), with prices anticipated to start at Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom).

The model is built on a platform derived from the 2017 E-Motion coupe concept. Its exterior design incorporates sleek LED headlights with DRLs, a contoured bonnet, and a split air intake at the front. The rear design includes arrow-shaped tail lights and a split diffuser, while the side profile is defined by sharp creases, bold lines, and diamond-cut alloy wheels ranging from 19 to 20 inches. Adding a dramatic flair, the Cyberster is equipped with scissor doors. It measures 4,533mm in length, 1,912mm in width, and 1,328mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,689mm.

Inside, the Cyberster features a state-of-the-art cabin with three digital displays, including a vertically stacked infotainment screen angled toward the driver. Key amenities include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, integrated 5G connectivity, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, and a premium Bose sound system. Additional technology highlights include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, regenerative braking, multiple airbags, and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

MG Select: An Overview

The Cyberster is a flagship model under the MG Select programme, a premium brand initiative introduced by JSW MG Motor India. The outlets will specifically focus on new energy vehicles (NEVs), including hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and fully electric models. These facilities will combine sales and service under one roof, featuring a distinctive aesthetic and tailored communication materials to establish a unique brand identity.

Focused on delivering customised luxury experiences, the programme emphasises advanced technology, environmental sustainability, and superior performance. To enhance this offering, MG Select plans to open specialised experience centres in 12 major cities across India, designed to provide services tailored to the preferences of high-end car buyers, aligning with MG's vision of combining innovation with eco-friendly mobility to reshape the premium automotive market.
