MG Motor India has pulled covers from the electric Cyberster sportscar at the Auto Shanghai 2023. According to reports, the production-ready Cyberster Roadster will go on sale in Europe and the UK by May 2024. Design-wise, the Cyberster,  is a two-door, two-seater sportscar, and reflects the brand's tradition, borrowing many styling cues from the classic MGB Roadster. It has also been revealed sporting new high-tech features, including an interactive gaming cockpit and 5G connectivity. Mechanically, the drop-top sportscar will likely get two powertrain choices. However, MG has not shared any exact information on the powertrain of the electric sportscar yet. In India, MG currently offers the ZS EV. The upcoming MG Comet is the second EV of the carmaker for our market. There is no update on the launch of the all-electric Cyberster in the Indian market as of now. For now, let's have a look at some of the details of this all-electric model that has been showcased at the ongoing Shanghai motor show 2023.

To begin with the powertrain, there is official update yet, however, market reports reveal that the all-electric sportscar could get multiple powertrain choices. It is likely to come with single- and dual-motor configurations. The base single-motor version could offer 305bhp, while dual-motor variants could make 536bhp, making it the most potent MG ever. According to the reports, the Cyberster is constructed on a brand-new platform, centred upon the 2017 E-Motion coupe concept. Its claimed range is 800 kilometre.

Dimensionally, the drop-top sportscar is reportedly larger than the Mazda MX-5 and the Porsche 718 Boxster, measuring 4,535mm long, 1,913mm wide, and 1,329mm tall. In terms of appearance, the MG Cyberster has not only a contemporary aesthetic approach but also a similarity to the legendary MG roadsters from the past. The tall hood and clean body lines are a carryover from the firm's earlier convertibles. Further, the all-electric car also has distinctive scissor doors. Inside, the MG Cyberster EV will likely feature a steering wheel with a yoke design inspired by Tesla. It will presumably get multiple digital displays for entertainment and driving data.
