MG Motor has officially introduced its all-electric luxury MPV, the M9, in India, following its initial debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. Positioned as a premium three-row EV, the M9 is available in a single top-spec version, priced at Rs 69.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This model enters the Indian market through MG Select, the company’s new premium retail format designed specifically for its high-end vehicles. MG will also sell its Cyberster electric convertible through the same outlets. The M9 marks MG's first attempt at a people-mover in India, with pre-orders having opened nationwide in May for a booking amount of Rs 1 lakh.
The MG M9 embraces the familiar silhouette of a full-size MPV, but is styled with enough visual drama to stand out. The front is dominated by a closed-off grille flanked by an aggressive bumper. Slim LED daytime running lights and angular headlight enclosures add a touch of sharpness.

From the side, the profile maintains its practical van-like stance, but MG has added generous chrome trim and bold 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels to elevate its road presence. The rear gets a full-width LED light bar, styled to give the M9 a clean, upscale finish.

In terms of dimensions, the M9 is a large vehicle, measuring 5,270mm long, 2,000mm wide, and 1,840mm tall, with a substantial 3,200mm wheelbase, promising abundant interior room.
Under the floor sits a 90kWh lithium-ion battery, sending power to a front-mounted electric motor that delivers 241bhp and 350Nm of torque. MG claims a top speed of 180km/h and a driving range of 548km on a full charge.
With an 11kW AC charger, the battery can be charged from 5% to 100% in approximately 8.5 hours. The M9 also supports DC fast charging, capable of replenishing the battery from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes, offering flexibility for longer journeys.
Inside, the M9’s cabin focuses on luxury and high-tech convenience. Interior materials include a mix of suede and leather. A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system takes center stage, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features come in the form of a wireless phone charger, a digital rear-view mirror, a panoramic sunroof, and a 7-inch digital instrument display.

Moreover, the front and rear seats are power-adjustable with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The audio system includes a 13-speaker JBL setup, while the car also has connected vehicle functions and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging capability, useful for powering appliances or charging other EVs.
The M9 does not skimp on safety either. It comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS, offering semi-autonomous driving assistance, as well as seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, disc brakes all around, electronic stability control (ESC), and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), making it one of the most safety-loaded EVs in its class.
Entering as a Semi Knocked Down (SKD) unit, the MG M9 currently faces no direct competition in the Indian electric MPV space. However, its price and configuration position it as a compelling alternative to internal combustion rivals like the Kia Carnival, Lexus LM, and Toyota Vellfire (ex-showroom).
