New-gen BYD Atto 3 gets LED lighting, 19-inch alloys, panoramic roof, 16-speaker audio, and second-gen Blade Battery options with 57.54kWh and 68.54kWh packs.

BYD has pulled the covers off the all-new Atto 3 at Auto China 2026, and this is far more than a routine refresh. Sold as the Yuan Plus in China, the new model builds heavily on the current Atto 3 with a larger footprint, more power, upgraded battery tech, and charging speeds that sound almost unreal. The timing makes this reveal even more important, arriving soon after the Atto 3 Evo’s India debut and showing BYD’s aggressive pace in keeping one of its key EVs fresh.
Visually, the new Atto 3 looks sharper without losing its familiar identity. The silhouette stays recognisable, but BYD has given it a more sculpted front bumper, a connected LED light bar, and a cleaner fascia that adds more road presence. New alloy wheels of up to 19 inches, semi-flush door handles, and a floating roof effect modernise the profile, while the rear gets revised tail-lights with an illuminated BYD logo.

It still looks like an Atto 3, just one that has clearly levelled up. Size is where the biggest shift happens. At 4,665mm long, 1,895mm wide, and 1,675mm tall, it is significantly larger than the India-spec model. The wheelbase has also grown by 50mm to 2,770mm, effectively pushing it from its current segment into a larger class with more road presence and cabin room.

BYD is clearly aiming higher with this one. Practicality has grown too, with a claimed 750 litres of boot space and an additional 180 litres in the frunk. That should make it far more versatile for family use and long-distance travel. For buyers who value space as much as tech, this new Atto 3 looks far more serious than before.
Inside, BYD has gone for a cleaner, more mature cabin design. There is a new two-spoke steering wheel, a revised digital instrument cluster, and a bigger touchscreen infotainment system. The front passenger seat now gets an added reclining function, while thoughtful touches like a heated and cooled storage box bring more everyday usability.

The equipment list pushes things further upmarket. Buyers get a panoramic glass roof, 256-colour ambient lighting, a 16-speaker audio system, 50W wireless charging, and 60W USB Type-C charging. In China, BYD is also offering a LiDAR-assisted automated driving suite, which could place the new Atto 3 in a far more advanced league than its predecessor.
China gets two second-generation Blade Battery options, a 57.54kWh pack with a claimed 540km CLTC range and a larger 68.54kWh unit offering up to 630km. Rear-wheel drive comes as standard, paired with either a 271bhp or 326bhp electric motor, giving the Atto 3 stronger performance credentials than before.

Then comes the real headline, BYD’s Flash Charging tech. The company claims the battery can charge from 10 to 97 per cent in just nine minutes, while a 10 to 70 per cent top-up takes only five minutes under ideal conditions.
