Honda has revealed the new fourth-generation Insight, and the well-known name now enters the electric era. The latest Honda Insight arrives as an all-electric crossover developed for the Japanese market, replacing the hybrid sedan that carried the badge earlier. Production of the third-generation Insight sedan ended in 2022, and this new model marks a major shift in the nameplate’s direction. Honda has repositioned the Insight to fit into its global electrification strategy while also responding to the growing demand for crossover body styles. Instead of continuing with a traditional sedan layout, the brand has introduced a battery-powered crossover that blends electric performance with practical design.

The new Insight also promises a WLTC driving range of over 500km, making it one of the notable additions to Honda’s expanding electric vehicle line-up.
In terms of design, the new Honda Insight adopts a coupe-style crossover profile with a shark-nose front section and a closed grille. A full-width light bar links the slim LED headlights, while vertical boomerang-shaped daytime running lamps extend into the bumper area. The front fascia also features an illuminated Honda logo along with a large central air intake and a splitter-style lower lip.

The side profile highlights a sharp shoulder line and flush door handles that retract automatically when not in use. The roofline slopes towards the rear and connects with a raked C-pillar, giving the crossover a sleek look. At the back, the Insight features vertical tail lamps along with a full-width light guide across the boot lid. Large alloy wheels and a lower, wider stance help the crossover stand apart from traditional SUVs.
Inside the cabin, Honda has opted for a minimalist wrap-around layout. The dashboard features a 12.8-inch central touchscreen paired with a 9.4-inch digital instrument cluster.

Most functions are integrated into the infotainment system, while the heated steering wheel retains physical switches for key controls. The cabin also includes a fragrance system, a 12-speaker Bose sound setup, and a head-up display.
Powering the new Honda Insight EV is a front-mounted electric motor that produces 310Nm of torque. Honda claims a driving range of over 500km on the WLTC cycle, supported by a battery pack that also allows bi-directional charging. Drivers can switch between Sport, Normal, Econ, and Snow drive modes, while regenerative braking can be adjusted through paddles behind the steering wheel.

The crossover also comes with the Honda Sensing driver assistance suite, a hands-free parking system, reclining rear seats, and a walk-through floor design. Sales in Japan will begin in the coming weeks.
