Both models offer cutting-edge technology, strong performance, and premium features, but how do they compare? When it comes to pricing, the BYD Sealion 7 starts at Rs 48.90 lakh for the base Premium variant, while the top-of-the-line Performance variant is priced at Rs 54.90 lakh.

Meanwhile, the Kia EV6 has a starting price of Rs 65.90 lakh for its sole offering, the GT Line Electric, as Kia currently provides only one variant.

The refreshed EV6 boasts a more eye-catching and sophisticated front-end, influenced by Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. A standout feature is the newly integrated Star Map Graphic Connected DRL with Sequential Indicators, seamlessly merging with the updated fascia. The GT-Line front bumper enhances its sporty demeanour, while redesigned triangular headlights add a more distinctive touch. The lower grille now showcases a refined trapezoidal geometric pattern, emphasising its contemporary styling. At the rear, the signature full-width curved taillights retain their original shape but incorporate updated LED elements for a more modern look. Additionally, the rear bumper has been reworked to enhance the overall design, complemented by fresh 19-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels with a glossy finish.

The BYD Sealion 7 features a four-door configuration with a sleek, coupe-style sloping roofline, staying true to BYD’s signature Ocean series design language. It stands out with bold LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and distinctive ‘double-U’ shaped LED headlamps. The pronounced wheel arches, accentuated by contrasting black cladding, add a rugged touch to its design. Moving on to the rear, a dual-tone bumper is paired with two aerodynamic spoilers – one positioned on the roof and the other on the boot lid – enhancing its sporty character. A wraparound LED taillight setup, seamlessly linked by an illuminated light bar, further elevates the vehicle’s modern and sophisticated aesthetic.

Performance-wise, the Kia model now comes equipped with a larger 84kWh battery, an upgrade from the previous 77.4kWh capacity, and is built on the advanced E-GMP platform. This high-efficiency battery powers a dual-motor configuration, delivering an impressive 321bhp and 605Nm of torque while operating with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. On a full charge, the EV6 can achieve a driving range of up to 650 km. The EV can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.3 seconds.


BYD Sealion 7 Rear


In contrast, the Sealion 7 is available in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) versions, both equipped with an 82.6kWh battery pack. The RWD variant produces 308bhp and 380Nm of torque, offering an estimated range of 560 km/charge. Meanwhile, the AWD model delivers a significantly higher output of 523bhp and 690Nm of torque, though its range is slightly reduced to 530 km/charge. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.5 seconds.

The Kia EV6 offers significantly faster charging capabilities, with a 350kW fast charger enabling a charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes, minimising downtime and improving convenience.

On the other hand, the BYD Sealion 7 in India supports DC fast charging, allowing its battery to replenish from 10% to 80% in around 24 minutes when using a 230kW charger.

The EV6 has been upgraded with a range of modern enhancements, including a sleek 12.3-inch curved display, a new double D-cut steering wheel with hands-on detection, and an advanced fingerprint scanner for effortless keyless entry. The infotainment system now supports augmented reality navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an improved 12-inch heads-up display, and over-the-air (OTA) updates beyond just navigation. Additionally, a digital rear-view mirror adds to overall convenience.

The BYD Sealion 7 also features a tech-centric cabin, highlighted by a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen that seamlessly integrates Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and vehicle controls. Comfort-focused features include an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory, a head-up display, and ventilated front seats. The premium feel is further enhanced by ambient lighting, a 12-speaker sound system, and a panoramic glass roof. For added convenience, the SUV offers a wireless phone charger and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability.
