New Kia K3 Sedan Revealed Globally; Gets Two-spoke Steering Wheel From the EV6

The all-new Kia K3 made its global debut in Mexico. The sub-compact K3, according to the automaker, boasts a unique and modern style, a spacious interior, and a wealth of comfort and safety equipment. A fastback-style profile, bold front end, and uncommon LED DRL light pattern are a part of its futuristic looks. Inside, the sedan features a newly designed steering wheel inspired by the EV6, a dashboard with horizontal stripes that is both straightforward and practical, and an instrument cluster with a panoramic infotainment screen. According to Kia's official press statement, the new K3 will go on sale in a few markets starting in the year's fourth quarter. Further, each country will reveal more details about the model's characteristics shortly. Let's look at its currently available specs and other features until the new sedan is ready to hit different foreign lands.

New Kia K3: Design

The iconic Tiger Nose grille on the Kia K3 has been reworked to give the vehicle a more functional appearance. Moreover, the black coatings in the wheel wells and the double-line beltline that continues from the fender give it a robust appearance when viewed from the side. The elegant rear design features a thin line of LED illumination that serves as a decorative element and connects the taillights. It also has a fastback-style roof drop. Dimensionally, the sub-compact sedan is 4,545mm long, 1,765mm wide, and 1,475mm tall, and has a 2,670mm of wheelbase. Its trunk boasts an enormous 544 litres of storage capacity. Aside from this, the new GT-Line variant flaunts 17-inch wheels, two exhaust outlets, and a fascia with larger air intakes that add to its sportier appearance. 

New Kia K3: Interior 

A 10.25-inch high-resolution touchscreen in the centre of the new Kia sedan's interior features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. There are USB Type C connectors for front and back passengers. Other interior amenities include a digital instrument cluster, adjustable ambient lighting with up to 64 different colour options, two-zone touch automated climate control, and more. 

New Kia K3: Engine

The sedan's mechanical specifics include a base 1.6-litre, four-cylinder engine with 121bhp that comes with an automated and six-speed manual as transmission options. On the other hand, the GT-Line model has a 2.0-litre engine with 150bhp paired with a six-speed automated gearbox with paddle shifters. Additionally, a 1.4-litre unit that is designed for export will also be offered.

New Kia K3: Availability

As already mentioned above, the new K3 will start selling in select markets in the fourth quarter of this year. Additionally, the specifics of the model will soon be made more explicit for each nation.
