On its official social media handles, Mercedes-Benz teased the brand-new CLE coupe and revealed its debut date. The upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe, set to debut on July 5, will take the place of the C-Class Coupe and the E-Class Coupe. For the uninitiated, a CLE-Class Cabriolet is also being developed to replace the previous convertible variants of the C-Class and E-Class. The approach is reminiscent of what Mercedes accomplished with the CLK-Class 20 years ago. In terms of mechanics, the CLK-Class was comparable to the C-Class but was mounted higher. The CLE Coupe is anticipated to play a significant part in the German luxury automobile brand's strategy as it moves towards a linear and streamlined product selection. Speaking of the design, the teaser image shows the car's sharp and sleek LED headlights and taillights, and the entire appearance of the model is sleeker. The future droptop version of the CLE will have a fabric roof, which is expected to make it visually appealing. This is in keeping with the trend of the current generation of convertibles. Additionally, compared to a foldable hardtop, the fabric roof is far lighter and more portable. However, it does not guarantee the hardtop's level of structural rigidity.

The C236 nomenclature is anticipated for the next Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe. Expect this convertible to have a sleek shape that resembles the not-so-successful S-Class Coupe model, which was produced for only one generation. The car will initially be offered in the European and North American markets before being introduced to other international markets later on.

New Mercedes-Benz CLE: Expected Powertrain

A variety of powertrain options, including an electrified 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power output of 308bhp in the C300e plug-in hybrid sedan, are anticipated for the new CLE Coupe. A six-cylinder engine would also be included. The model would additionally receive an AMG 53 performance variant. The CLE Coupe will likely come in both rear-wheel drive and 4Matic all-wheel drive versions.

New Mercedes-Benz CLE: Will it Come to India?

As of now, it is still uncertain whether or not the new CLE coupe will be sold in India. Given Mercedes-Benz's ambitious product range development plan for the country, it may eventually make it to the Indian shore by the end of this year or the beginning of 2024.
