Nissan has revealed the name of its upcoming 7-seater MPV, along with key design details and its India launch timeline. Called the Gravite, the B-segment MPV is likely to be underpinned by the Renault Triber’s platform and target budget-conscious buyers, similar to its French cousin. The Gravite will be manufactured locally in India and is slated to reach dealerships by March 2026. While there is still some time before Nissan unveils the MPV in its full glory, the company has shared select design elements to offer a glimpse of what’s to come. So, without further ado, let’s take a closer look.
Nissan has confirmed that the Gravite will go on sale in India in January 2026, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in March of the same year. Currently, Nissan’s Indian lineup is limited to the Magnite compact SUV and the premium X-Trail MPV. The introduction of the Gravite will play a key role in expanding the footprint of the brand in our market, particularly in the mass-market section, with a more accessible, family-focused offering. The launch of the Gravite will also mark the beginning of Nissan’s broader product map in India, which will later include the Tekton SUV, a mid-sized C-segment SUV.

The soon-to-be-launched Gravite embraces the brand’s fresh design language and adds its own personality. The car's proportions look similar to the Triber, but a few features set it apart. These include a chrome-accented grille, a sculpted bonnet with a hood scoop-like element, new bumpers, reimagined alloy wheels, and distinct taillamps.
Nissan has yet to showcase the Gravite’s cabin, but industry reports suggest it will closely follow the layout of the Renault Triber, the model on which it is expected to be based. To give the Gravite its own identity, the cabin could feature new upholstery designs, updated colour schemes, and a few exclusive features.

The MPV is likely to come equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a rear-view camera, a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, manual air conditioning with vents extending to the second and third rows, and six airbags.
Under the hood, the Gravite is expected to carry over the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine from the refreshed Triber. This unit delivers 71bhp and 96Nm of torque and is likely to be paired with a choice of a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Additionally, Nissan may introduce a CNG variant at a later stage.
