New Renault Koleos Details Leaked

French manufacturer Renault is all set to unveil the new Koleos at the Beijing Motor Show, but it looks like images of the car have been already been leaked and are now up online. It looks like the SUV will retain its Koleos nametag, as seen in the pictures, but it is unsure if it will remain the same in markets other than China.

We already know that the new Koleos is largely based on the Nissan X-Trail and they are both based on Renault-Nissan Alliance’s Common Module Family (CMF) platform., but the overall design of the Koleos is very unique, and much different than the X-Trail as well as the earlier Koleos model. The front and rear ends haven certainly borrowed a few elements from the Renault Talisman sedan and the Kadjar crossover.

In the Chinese market, the new Koleos will come with two different engine options. The first is the base engine, which is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder unit capable of producing 148bhp. The second is the higher-spec 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine that will produce 184bhp. Both engine will be mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed auto transmission, and FWD and AWD layouts will also be available. It's still unclear weather or not the new Koleos will make its way to India.
