The Lexus LFR has finally stepped into the spotlight, making its first public appearance at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed under the name ‘Toyota GT Concept.’ Alongside it, Toyota also showcased the GT3-spec ‘GT Racing Concept,’ giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from both the road and race versions. Together, these unveilings mark a bold comeback for Lexus in the world of high-performance supercars. This new LFR is seen as the spiritual successor to the legendary Lexus LFA. Known for its naturally aspirated 4.8-litre V10 and that unforgettable exhaust note, the LFA became a collector’s dream despite early criticism about its price. With its carbon-fibre body and attention to detail, it carved out a strong reputation. Now with LFR, Toyota is ready to take that legacy forward with even more power and modern engineering.

Both versions of the LFR carry a strong road presence. The road car gets four tailpipes and a clean, sporty spoiler, while the GT3 version goes all out with a large rear wing and aggressive aero design. The styling shows a clear intent — this isn’t just about looks, it’s built to perform on track and on the street.

When it hits showrooms, the LFR is expected to take on heavyweights like the Aston Martin Vantage and Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S. It also aims to be a big upgrade over Lexus’s current LC500 in terms of performance. With this car, Lexus is clearly signalling its intent to compete seriously with the best in the business.

Official specs aren’t out yet, but rumours point to a hybrid setup — a twin-turbo V8 working with an electric motor. The LFR will be more powerful than the LFA and will bring Lexus into a whole new league of performance. The LFR could well be the most advanced supercar the brand has ever built.
