Volvo has globally introduced the EX30 Cross Country, an adventurous addition to its compact electric SUV lineup. Designed for rugged terrains, the new model boasts a robust exterior with distinctive styling elements, all-terrain tyres, and increased ground clearance for enhanced off-road capability. Building on the success of the EX30, this Cross Country version caters to drivers seeking both urban convenience and outdoor versatility. Key features include signature black cladding, skid plates, and specialised detailing that reinforce its rugged appeal. As part of Volvo's commitment to sustainable mobility, the EX30 Cross Country retains its electric powertrain while delivering added durability for challenging environments. This global debut highlights Volvo's continued innovation in merging practicality, performance, and environmentally conscious design.

The EX30 Cross Country largely retains the design elements of the standard model, including the iconic ‘Thor’s Hammer’ LED headlights with DRLs and split tail lights with C-shaped illumination. The ground clearance has been increased by 18mm compared to the base-spec version.

A standout feature is the black panel under the headlights, showcasing carvings inspired by Arctic Sweden’s Kebnekaise mountain range. Other styling highlights include rugged cladding around the wheel arches, reinforced skid plates at both ends, a roof rack for added utility, and 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tyres.
Mechanically, this version maintains the dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) system found in the standard EX30, delivering 422bhp of maximum power and 543Nm of peak torque. It is powered by a 64kWh battery pack, which Volvo estimates will offer a driving range of 427 km per charge. The EX30 Cross Country can go from 0 to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds.
With DC fast-charging capability, the battery can be recharged from 10 to 80 per cent within just 26 minutes, according to Volvo.
Coming to the cabin, the Cross Country offers the same layout as the standard model, boasting a 12.3-inch Google-driven touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a full-width soundbar, and other high-tech amenities.

In terms of safety, the model incorporates cutting-edge safety tech such as automated steering and braking assistance to mitigate the risk of crashes involving cars, pedestrians, as well as cyclists. Additionally, a driver monitoring system provides alerts when it detects potential fatigue or lapses in attention.
