Volvo has pulled the covers off the new EX60 electric SUV, and this one feels important for the brand. Revealed globally from Sweden, the EX60 sits right in the middle of Volvo’s EV line-up, slotting between the smaller EX models and the larger electric SUVs. It is also the first production Volvo to use the new SPA3 electric platform, which will support many future models. The focus here is clear: longer range, quicker charging and better usability for everyday driving. Range anxiety remains a big concern for EV buyers, and Volvo seems keen to tackle that head-on.

With a claimed driving range of up to 810km, the EX60 enters the mid-size electric SUV segment with serious intent.
The design of the Volvo EX60 follows the brand’s clean and familiar approach. Up front, it gets a closed grille layout, slim LED headlamps and the signature Thor-style lighting pattern. The bonnet sits low, while smooth body panels and flush detailing help improve aerodynamics.

The roofline gently tapers towards the rear, giving the SUV a balanced profile without compromising road presence. The battery is integrated into the chassis, helping improve stability and overall structure.
The EX60 focuses on space, comfort and technology. Thanks to the flat-floor layout, rear-seat legroom is generous and the cabin feels open. Storage spaces are spread across the centre console and doors for daily convenience.

The dashboard is dominated by a large touchscreen running Volvo’s latest infotainment system, offering voice commands, connected services and over-the-air updates as standard.
Powertrain options for the Volvo EX60 will vary across markets, but the long-range version stands out. The top-spec model uses a 117kWh battery pack paired with an all-wheel-drive setup, producing up to 510bhp. Volvo claims a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 810km on a single charge.

Other variants will be offered with smaller battery packs and rear- or all-wheel drive layouts to suit different driving needs. Fast charging support of up to 400kW allows the EX60 to regain a large amount of range in a short time, making long highway journeys easier to manage.

With the EX60, Volvo is trying to remove common doubts around electric SUVs. Strong range figures, clean design and useful features make it suitable for everyday driving as well as long trips. Set to arrive in global markets from 2026, the EX60 will be a key model as Volvo moves closer to becoming a fully electric brand.
