Porsche Cayenne Facelift launched in India

The 2015 Porsche Cayenne from the German luxury sports car manufacturer has just been launched in India. The luxurious but sporty SUV has been launched with a price tag starting at Rs. 1.04 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

Although the car retains much of its original DNA it has gotten few design upgrades and the engines have been tweaked for better performance and more efficiency, and there is also a new petrol engine available on the Cayenne S model.

The design changes include revised bumpers, redesigned headlights and tail lights, new air inlets upfront and new exhaust tailpipes. The interiors have also gotten some nice new touches including a steering wheel borrowed over from the 918. There is also a new Sport Plus driving mode, and the rear space has been improved to allow for more comfortable seating.

The base model Cayenne Diesel gets a 3.0-litre, V6 engine with 245bhp and 550Nm of torque. The Cayenne S Diesel on the other hand gets a more powerful 4.2-litre, V8 with 385bhp and 850Nm of torque, and this allows the car to race from 0-100km/h in just 5.4 seconds. However both engines are also more efficient than before.

The newest engine is the 3.6-litre, V6 bi-turbo and it powers the Cayenne S with 420bhp and 550Nm of torque, and with its standard eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission, the Cayenne S accelerates from zero to 100km/h in just 5.5 seconds. The most powerful model of course is the Cayenne Turbo, which is stocked with a 4.8-litre, bi-turbo V8 engine that produces 520bhp and 750Nm of torque. The Cayenne Turbo can reach 100km/hin just 4.5 seconds.

The new Cayenne models are now available at all Porsche Centres in India, delivering high-end dynamic performance with the typical Porsche spread of efficiency, undiminished ride comfort and exclusive features fitted as standard.
