New Porsche Taycan 4S II

Months after it unveiled its updated Taycan electric sedan, Porsche has now listed the model on the India website. While the launch will happen sometime later, the Taycan 4S II and the Turbo II are priced at Rs 1.82 crore and Rs 2.53 crore, respectively. Both prices are ex-showroom, India.

For a facelift, the Porsche Taycan gets a host of electrical upgrades, making it more powerful and quicker than the outgoing version. It comes in two configurations: a rear-wheel-drive setup and an all-wheel-drive arrangement, depending on the variant selected. Porsche has yet to launch the entry-level variant with a rear-wheel-drive system; however, at its price, the Taycan 4S II can be had with either an 89kWh or an optional 105kWh battery pack. In the global-spec Taycan Facelift, the WLTP-certified range figures stand at 557km for the smaller battery and 642km for the bigger battery, while the power and torque figures can reach up to 510bhp (590bhp with overboost) and 710Nm (using launch control), respectively. The India-spec figures are yet to be revealed.

Coming to the Taycan Turbo II, it is equipped with only a 105kWh battery pack. Like the 4S, the Turbo gets all-wheel-drive technology. For this model as well, the company has yet to divulge range and other details. For your reference, the global-spec model makes 698bhp (872bhp with overboost) and 890Nm of peak torque, while the driving range is rated at 629km. As of now, the Taycan Turbo is the quickest model in the company's India line-up, with a claimed 0 to 100km/h time of 2.7 seconds. One can expect the Turbo S and the Turbo GT to be launched in India later.

The Porsche Taycan Facelift sits on an 800V architecture and is compatible with up to a 320kW fast charger. The adaptive air suspension system is standard, while the new Porsche Active Ride suspension is optional on all-wheel-drive models.

Cosmetic updates are minimal. At the front, the new Taycan sports redesigned LED headlamps, reshaped air vents, and a revised bumper, while the rear end features a light strip with a three-dimensional, glass-look design. The latter also includes a new bumper. The 4S II comes with 19-inch aero-optimised wheels, while the Turbo II gets 20-inch aero wheels.

Features-wise, the Taycan Facelift offers the same cabin layout as before, but it includes an updated infotainment system featuring a redesigned user interface with additional functions. A fully digital display is available for the driver, while there is an optional passenger display too. Other notable features include a 3-spoke steering wheel, ambient lighting, powered front seats, a head-up display, 4-zone climate control, and ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems).
