Renault Arkana crossover teased ahead of Moscow reveal

Renault has announced the name of their upcoming C-Segment crossover, predominantly for the Russian market. The French manufacturer is calling it the Renault Arkana, derived from the Latin word ‘ARCANUM’ which means - Secret.

Renault has revealed the final production name for their upcoming crossover.

Renault has announced the name of their upcoming C-Segment crossover, predominantly for the Russian market. The French manufacturer is calling it the Renault Arkana, derived from the Latin word ‘ARCANUM’ which means - Secret.

Additionally, Renault has also released a teaser image which shows the rear tailgate of the vehicle with the ‘ARKANA’ badge and the tail lamp design. Renault how not revealed much about the car as yet, but from previous teaser images from the brand, we know it is expected to follow their latest design philosophy. The front will feature LED headlamps with their new signature c-shaped LED –DRLS and chrome studded front grille at the front. The test mules of the vehicle draped in camouflage have also been seen on European roads has provided a better sense of the size of the vehicle.

Renault expects the Arkana to a real breakthrough for the Russian SUV-market and strengthening the leadership of Renault Russia. The Arkana has been designed to be a global product, but Russia will be the first market to receive it. Other markets are scheduled soon after. Initially, the Arkana will be manufactured at their factory in Moscow, where the brand manufactures the Duster / (Nissan) Terrano and the Captur, which is presently being operated by 2,311 strong workforce.

Renault will debut the Arkana on August 29, at the Moscow International Motor Show 2018 and will go on sale in Russia late 2018 or early 2019. Wheather Renault will introduce the Arkana in the Indian market is not yet confirmed.
