Here's how the Renault Kiger Facelift stacks up against the popular compact SUV, the Tata Nexon, across multiple parameters.

Renault has given the Kiger a comprehensive overhaul for 2025, with a refreshed front fascia and an updated features list that now includes six airbags as standard. This makes it a compelling and affordable option in the compact SUV segment. But can this newly updated Renault SUV stand up to the popular compact SUV, the Tata Nexon, which offers more powertrain options and an extensive feature list? Let's find out which of the two compact SUVs is an ideal pick for prospective buyers.

The most significant difference between the two compact SUVs lies in their powertrain options and the overall power output. The Kiger offers a choice between two distinct 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engines. The first is a naturally aspirated engine that produces a maximum power of 71bhp and a peak torque of 96Nm.
The second is a turbocharged version, which bumps the power output to 99bhp and a much more substantial 160Nm torque. The turbo-petrol can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the NA petrol unit has a 5-speed MT and an AMT as options.

In contrast, the Tata Nexon offers a wider variety of fuel and transmission choices. Its petrol option is a single, more powerful 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron engine that delivers 118bhp and 170Nm. The unit, despite being a three-cylinder unit like the Kiger's, is tuned for more power. The Nexon also stands out by offering a diesel engine, a 1.5-litre turbocharged Revotorq unit that produces 113bhp and 260Nm. Moreover, the Nexon offers a factory-fitted CNG option and a large array of transmissions, including a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed AMT, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCA).
As you can see in the table below, the Kiger is slightly narrower and shorter than the Nexon, but it has a larger wheelbase and a significantly bigger boot space.

| Length | 3,991mm | 3,995mm | -4mm |
| Width | 1,750mm | 1,804mm | -54mm |

The 2025 Kiger has significantly narrowed the gap with the Tata Nexon in terms of features, now offering standard six airbags and ventilated front seats. It also offers practical amenities like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a wireless charger.

However, the Tata Nexon still maintains an upper hand with its rich feature set, including a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, premium sound system, and a voice-activated sunroof. It also offers a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring. The SUV holds a five-star Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP safety ratings.
The Kiger Facelift is a more budget-friendly option, compared to the Tata SUV. Its price starts at Rs 6.29 lakh and reaches up to Rs 11.29 lakh.
