Renault has introduced the updated Triber in India at a starting price of Rs 6.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The refreshed 7-seater comes with a host of upgrades and significantly undercuts the long-reigning champion in the compact MPV segment, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. It also offers several features such as LED projector headlamps, a bigger infotainment unit, and an advanced digital driver's display, which are not offered with the Ertiga. To help you decide which of these two MPVs makes the best family car, we have compared the Triber and the Ertiga based on features and performance. So, without further ado, let's dive into the details.
The new Renault Triber now comes with a gloss black grille with vertical slats, complemented by the updated 2D Renault logo and a reworked front bumper featuring silver accents for a sportier look.

At the rear, the Triber sports a gloss black strip connecting redesigned LED tail-lamps, a brushed aluminum 'Triber' badge, and a more prominent skid plate, giving it a chunkier stance. Higher variants now come equipped with LED headlamps and fog lamps as standard. The car also gets new paint options like Amber Terracotta, Zanskar Blue, and Shadow Grey.

One of the biggest distinctions between the Renault Triber and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga lies under the hood. The Ertiga comes with a larger 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine that delivers noticeably more power and torque than the Triber’s smaller 1.0-litre 3-cylinder unit. The Ertiga also benefits from smoother engine refinement and reduced vibrations.
When it comes to transmissions, the Ertiga’s 6-speed torque converter offers a more seamless driving experience compared to the Triber’s 5-speed AMT. Additionally, Maruti’s Smart Hybrid tech in the Ertiga boosts both efficiency and performance, a feature absent in the Triber. While both models offer CNG variants, only the Ertiga provides a factory-fitted option.

The 2025 iteration of the Triber has really upped its game in terms of features. It now has automatic climate control, a digital instrument cluster, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is equipped with hill start assist, TPMS, standard ESP, and four airbags in its top variant.

For safety, the car offers six airbags as standard, a rear parking camera with sensors, and electronic stability control.
The Renault Triber Facelift starts at Rs 6.29 lakh while the top-spec AMT variant is priced at Rs 9.16 lakh. In contrast, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is an expensive option in the segment, with prices starting at Rs 9.12 lakh and going up to Rs 13.41 lakh.
