Skoda Octavia Onyx edition revealed

Skoda India has introduced the new Octavia Onyx limited edition which will be launched soon.

Skoda has introduced a limited edition version of the Octavia in India. The car is called the Skoda Octavia Onyx which will only be available for a limited time period and will be made in limited numbers. The changes to the vehicle will remain only cosmetic, while mechanically, the Octavia Onyx will remain untouched from the standard car.

The Octavia Onyx features cosmetic changes which include 16-inch Premia black alloy wheels with a body colour spoiler, black exterior mirrors, new decorative foils and door sills.

At the front, Skoda has given the Octavia Onyx Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED DRLs and Adaptive Frontlight System (AFS) which automatically adjusts the headlight based on the driving conditions, 12-way adjustable driver’s seat, panoramic sunroof, and clever gadgets like park assist, a 6.5-inch LCD TFT touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth smartphone pairing technology in addition to six airbags.

The Octavia Onyx will be launched with a choice of a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder TSI engine that produces 177bhp mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. In addition to that, there’ll be a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine which churns out 140bhp mated to a 6-speed DSG gearbox.

Skoda dealers have not yet commenced bookings for the limited edition Onyx, but the car is expected to be launched in India very soon. We expect the Octavia Onyx to be priced around Rs. 20-22 lakh ex-showroom.
